NEW TOP 5 ALBUMS OF 2013 LIST THAT NOBODY ASKED ME FOR

We reached out to Montreal producer and designer of Montreal based clothing line Pure Luck X (PLX) Imaan Browne to bless us with his top 5 albums list of 2013. He’s got a great ear for music and because he’s a music producer himself, he’s got vested interest in listening to great music. Check out his page for Pure Luck X here.

Enjoy the list!

IT’S BEEN DONE! J. COLE HAS BEEN DETHRONED AS ALBUM OF THE YEAR! I’m not going to lie, I’m a big CG fan, having been listening to his music for some years now, but I NEVER EXPECTED THIS FROM HIM! This album puts the “yak” in “booyakasha”! Hahahah! I don’t think you’re going to hear an album more thought out and better put together than this project right here! I’m sure you’re going to hear the comparisons to Drake on being an “actor turned rapper”, even with the whole singing thing; just let it be known that he has said it more than once that he is NOT a rapper!

The list is primarily the same, with one album being taken off the list and another added, and that’s Shad’s “Flying Colors”. If you have not heard this album, you have surely missed out on a lyrical tyrant who abuses every beat he spits on! One standout track that is genius in its execution is “Progress (Part 1-American Pie, Part 2-The Future Is Here)”; take that track in and thank me later

Rounding off the list is my man Earl Sweatshirt with “Doris”. Seems Pusha T just couldn’t hang on with his album “My Name Is My Name”, though it was a tough battle indeed! Both him and Earl Sweatshirt came out with their debut albums, yet Earl came out completely different than what was expected of him. That project just knocks in so many ways, so I had to give the fifth and final spot to him

Well, that’s my final top 5 for 2013. It was a great year for music, with all of the giants in the game adding their piece of the pie.
