I can’t pin point the first time I heard about Henry Rollins mostly because it was while I was in high school and I was really young. I listened to him a speaker and radio and tv personality or voice really before I heard the music. He is a genius, the way he speaks and the things he said made the most sense to me as a kid. Even the Black Flag logo is one of the most iconic designs ever. The 4 bars an the simple font is so bold and genius to me. It symbolizes rebellion and anarchy. Anyways enjoy the interview! I can’t wait for part 2!

When paint, I like to listen to music. There’s something that music does, that keeps me inspired and motivated and at the same time gives me ideas for new paintings. This time around I like watching documentaries and listening to in depth interviews. this one was my favorite, Nas in my opinion is the greatest emcee ever! It was great to hear the process and thought that goes behind making his music. Usual he’s telling a narrative in his music, in hip hop rappers are usual the stars in their own music, and that’s not always the case with Nas. His last album Life is Good was amazing because we finally got to see Nas life and his struggle with raising a daughter, going through a divorce, where he is at now and the realization that life is good!
Anthony DeCurtis does an incredible job interviewing Nas! Enjoy!
It’s needless to say that Vans is an incredible brand! I grew up around Vans, even as a skater, Vans was second to none. But hearing Steve Van Doren talk and his M.A.G.I.C philosophy is amazing! Make A Greater Individual Commit, Words I’m going to live by! Enjoy!!!

I enjoy seing people like Joshua Kissi and Travis Gumbs just because of the sense of originality. You can really see the art in the way they dress and in return a sense of their identity.
